Hello!
I'm Steve Kownacki, Tech Lead of Second Presbyterian Church in Carlisle, PA. My goal with this non-public page is to introduce myself and assist you with ramping up and getting the most out of your equipment - along with creating an aesthetically pleasing online experience. Professionally, I have been self-employed for over 30 years in audio & video production, broadcast TV and streaming. It's a pleasure to provide guidance and mentoring to those who ask. I'm also a dealer for all sorts of audio & video equipment for the DIYer and, if practical, can help integrate and train staff. One thing I am not is an installer of full AV systems. I can, however, help you decide what you need and review quotations from local integrators. Everything is open to discussion.

I'd love for you to join our facebook group Second Presbyterian Church Tech Ops Ministry This is a place to post your questions and use the collective knowledge to learn, share and grow. Scroll down for a list of other resources I find helpful.

Stay tuned for information on webinars to help you get started!

Some pix of stuff

Things to think about

WHAT aesthetically: Type of service do you want to produce and define the elements. How many cameras, graphics/messaging, sound, broadcast to where. How visually good is the production quality?
WHAT technical:  internet, intranet, lighting, electrical, acoustics etc. What existing resources do you have and will they work with your goal?
WHO is your staffing and capability? What level of skill and creativity do they bring? Will you hire an integrator for installation or do  much of it yourselves? There will be ramp-up time and training too.
WHERE  What rooms need the tech? Sanctuary, chapel, narthex, classrooms?
WHERE Where will your stream play? Facebook, youtube, website, other CDN? (Content Delivery Network)
HOW is this funded? All at once or add on as budget/value permits?
WHEN? What is your time frame?

Don't only look at the gear others are using, but what does their online and in-person service look like? How many staff are utilized each week not just during the service but also in preparation? What about upgrades (such as firmware) and maintenance?
